Adult Group Tours - for 10 to 60 participants - at your convenience
Monuments & Bridges of DC - 2.5 to 3 hours (departs from Columbia Island Marina, VA -near the Pentagon)
What a different way to see Washington, DC! Kayak a stable, tandem kayak under historic bridges, see the Lincoln Memorial, the Washington Monument, the Kennedy Center, the Georgetown waterfront, and lots more. Of course one of our tours wouldn't be complete without a slice of nature, so we'll paddle to Roosevelt Island, a nature sanctuary, where we may see osprey, herons, and other birds. A great trip for locals and visitors alike. We meet at the Columbia Island Marina near the Pentagon for this tour. Group rate is $65 per person.
Piscataway Marsh Loop Eco Tour - 3 hours (departs from our Piscataway Creek Nature Center)
Atlantic Kayak guides specialize in taking groups for fun, relaxing and informative eco-friendly kayaking trips on Piscataway Creek, a freshwater tidal tributary of the Potomac River. Your group will start out in a bay-like environment where eagles and osprey hunt for fish, then make their way through winding channels surrounded by water lilies, cattails and wild rice, enjoy close-up views of beaver lodges, and then entering an even narrower creek that is heavily shaded by a canopy of trees loaded with forest birds. We often see great blue heron, osprey, bald eagles, beaver and turtles, as well as many smaller birds. Group rate is $55 per person.
Eagles on the Captain John Smith Water Trail - 2.5 hours (departs from our Piscataway Creek Nature Center)
This tour will take you along the shores of Piscataway Bay to Mockley Point, where the creek opens into the Potomac River for views of Mount Vernon and the Fort Washington Lighthouse. Gaze up the Potomac for a view of the Washington Monument. Captain John Smith first met the Piscataway Indians on Piscataway Creek in the early 1600s. It's easy to imagine what life was like in this area hundreds of years ago! This tour offers a good chance of close-up views of adult and juvenile bald eagles. Group rate is $50 per person
Add an optional stop at either Piscataway National Park, to view the Piscataway Indian Site and walk the marsh boardwalk, or Fort Washington National Park to explore Fort Washington by foot. Either stop adds about an hour or so to the tour and an additional fee of $10.
